Once more, look for the theft light and ensure it is on and wait for about 10 additional minutes until the theft lights turn off once more by itself.
7. Repeat the above step once again, making it a total of 3 times you are doing it. But when the theft light turns off on it own the third time; you have succeeded in programming your new Chevy Equinox key.

Note: In a situation where you want to make more keys in the process, you only have about 20 seconds to put an additional key and repeat the same process again and then wait patiently for the theft light to turn on, and when the theft light goes off, your additional key is programmed as well.
